Vostok Expedition: North Pole 1

If you're like us, you are always on the hunt for affordable, yet cool looking time pieces. Vostok-Europe is a brand that is often overlooked in terms of price point and design.

A piece that has currently piqued our interest is the Vostok-Europe Expedition North Pole-1. It has a rugged, yet sophisticated look to it, which to us, means this piece can be very versatile in terms of wardrobe for both chicks and gents.  Whether it is for work, a night out, or a casual weekend, this seems to function well for all occasions.

It boasts a 6S21 Miyota quartz 1/20th of a second 60 minute elapsed time chronograph with "sweep" style second hand similar to mechanical movements and has sleek sub-dials at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions on the dial.  The case diameter is on the larger side, coming in at 47mm. It is 17 1/2 mm in height with 24mm in lug width. Even though this thing appears to be a beast, we are liking that is maintains both an elegant and rugged design. You also get a screw down crown, fixed bezel, and super luminova.

What really stands out merely on design merit, is the tan colored genuine leather strap that contrasts beautifully with the black matte case finish and grey "icy" dial iteration.

If you are interested in snagging this timepiece, we found it on a few different sites, including Russia 2 All and Shop NBC (HQ). The price point is between $200 and $300, which makes for a great practical purchase to add to any collection.

  1. Heard mixed reviews of Vostok, but based on this, I might give it a whirl.
