Time Flyback Chronograph review

We just got our hands on the Timex T Series Flyback Chronograph, after weeks of lusting over it. We can't even begin to describe the obsession that came over us when we first laid eyes on this piece, and believe me, it was SO worth it!

So with all that out of the way, let's jump in. This watch has a lot going on, including some special features:

  • Fly-back Chronograph (with a 4-hour auto shut-off)
  • Water-Resistance of 100 meters
  • Stainless Steel Case
  • Tan Genuine Leather Oiled Strap
  • Black Ionic Plating
  • Tan Accents
  • 20mm lug width
  • INDIGLO® lume

The Timex T series also boasts a six-hand movement, with sub-dial displays indicating different data, including a second time zone, should you find yourself needing that function.

So what is a "Fly back Chronograph"? Well, its popular in the aviation world. Most fly back chronographs are designed with the main crown at 3 o'clock and 2 function buttons at the 2 and 4 o'clock. Typically, the fly back function is controlled by the button at 4 o'clock and the one at 2 o'clock is used to stop the chronograph. Time consuming, right? Here's why the fly back comes in  handy for pilots: It is much easier to instantly restart the chronograph with one push of one button, instead of three.

Finally, the case diameter measures in at 43mm, which for me, is a sweet spot. This is a nice "in the middle" size. Not too big, but not so tiny you can hardly read it.  Its a pretty sturdy watch too. You do have some weight on the wrist, but nothing uncomfortable.

This is not your grandparent's drugstore Timex.  Its comfortable, bold, and most importantly, cool.Get this watch....at $165.00, why not?

We have a video review on the Timex Flyback Chronograph as well. Check it out!

  2. Hey,
I just bought the IQ Linear Indicator Chrono as a gift, but the indiglo doesn't seem to work. Can give me a quick description on how to turn the indiglo on with that what? Simply pushing the button doesn't work with mine.
    Thanks!

  4. Thanks for the great review of the watch. I am interested in this and I am wondering what your impressions are after having the watch for a while. Some reviews indicated that the fly back chronograph had issues. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
