W.T Author "1905" Launch

CwW has been fortunate enough to be introduced to a really cool new watch brand, called W.T Author. The newly launched Limited Edition "1905" represents the first in a series of Swiss made watches that have been hand-finished in Britain. One of 13 future designs:

'No. 1905' Black Dial with Black Strap
The ‘No. 1905′ first edition watch draws inspiration from the turn of the 20th Century: a time when the first wristwatches for men were introduced by Louis Cartier and Edmond Jaegar. Taking inspiration from traditional aesthetics of the pocket watch, it reflects pioneering achievements of the era with signature shoulders brazed directly into the bespoke case allowing a hand-finished leather strap to be fitted. The dial utilises numbers taken directly from 1900′s pocket watches and is enhanced with Author’s unique hour markers. Traditionally formed custom-made hands complete the dial. The watch has been modernized with a beautiful enamel screw down case back, the signature red aluminum crown embossed with the Author trademark and a Swiss made 513S caliber movement.

'No. 1905' Blue Dial with Brown Strap
Every watch comes with an A5 book detailing the story of master watchmaker W.T Author, individually signed by the team and a limited edition A5 silk screen print available in 5 colours, individually numbered and signed. The set is beautifully presented in a custom-designed package.

Each watch boasts a sturdy, stainless steel case measuring 46mm in diameter, signature red crown (embossed with trademark), enamel screw down case back (with numbers 1 to 125 of 125), and handmade leather straps.
The W.T Author '1905' will be sold for £350 or around $500 (USD).

Though CwW has not had "hands on" the '1905', we can confidently say the watches look amazing. We really like the vintage look to them and the representation of 13 decades of beautiful watch making.
